News and Announcements
NEW HOURS

Our hours are 8 am - NOON each Saturday through October. There are no plans for a Tuesday mini-market this year.

Please take a moment to familiarize yourselves with our safety protocols and plan your trip accordingly.
Mineral Farmer's Market

The Mineral Farmer's Market is open Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 pm with some important logistical changes.

Our farmer's market has been considered by Governor Northam to be a vital link in the local food chain, and will be allowed to remain open to the public even as the statewide "Stay at Home" and mask-wearing policy is encouraged. This simply means our customers must treat visiting our market as a necessary trip to a grocery store, not a social occasion.
Here's what to expect when you come:

  • Every vendor will take all precautions to keep their booths spotless and sanitary; wiping down surfaces, wearing food gloves, keeping product away from the public's handling, and bagging purchases for you. Our vendors and volunteers will be wearing masks.
  • Our products wil be displayed behind us, and you will not be permitted to enter booths to "browse"
  • We will limit customers to one at a time per booth, and remind you to queue six feet apart from each other
  • We will have handwashing stations available, and hand sanitizer at every booth.
  • We will limit the number of customers on the field by funneling visitors through one entrance at the gravel parking lot, and one entrance at the crosswalk.
  • We will have clearly marked signage on the field to remind you to practice "social distancing" and to make your visit brief.
  • We invite you to follow our facebook page on Fridays before Market for an updated list of vendors and to see what's available, so you can best plan your trip.
We have put a lot of thought into these protocols, and feel our Market will be safer than visiting a grocery store! We do hope you'll come and pick up the freshest, most local food we can bring to you and your family.

Lastly, we cheerfully accept SNAP/EBT (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and P(andemic)-EBT cards. And through grant monies, we can match your purchases with up to $30 in fruits and veg per week! See the Market Manager, Becky, to use your card.

We ask that produce and plant sellers (farmers) sell veggies and plants grown by their hand within the Commonwealth of Virginia, and that bakers sell only things they created. (No MLMs/resellers/yard sale/flea market items please!)
